Dave and Glenda came in for a short visit this weekend before flying off to Las Vegas for some gambling. The four of us took the boat out Sunday, so Dave and Evan could fish and Glenda and I could relax. Our fishing expedition was supposed to be 2 hours because a storm was rolling through that afternoon. However, it ended up being 8 hours. We got the boat in the water and docked it at the local Bass Pro Shop. Dave said it would only take a few minutes to gather fishing supplies. An hour and some odd minutes later we were back in business. We left the dock and drove to a prime fishing spot just to find out that Dave’s new reel was broken. So after 10 minutes of fishing we headed back to the store. We dropped him off and let him go in by himself (not sure if that was smart or not). Thirty minutes later he was back. We headed back to the fishing spot where the guys managed to fish for about 40 minutes before we realized the storm was coming in. Since there was a massive amount of lighting, we high tailed it over to the harbor for cover. Thank goodness there were a couple of boat slips left. We battened down the hatches and headed for the bar. We patiently waited out the storm with margaritas, chips and salsa. It was tough, but we did it. Then, it was back out to fish. For the next several hours we tried several different spots with not a whole lot of luck. At this point, Glenda gave the final word that the guys had to shut it down. It was a long interesting day and a lot of fun. Hopefully, we can do it again soon.
